Prenatal Yoga: Preparation to Holistic Birth

If you feel fear and anxiety for your upcoming birth, if you want to feel supported, protected, and confident, if you want to feel happy and calm during your pregnancy and birth, this preparation course is for you.  You will receive two benefits in one from every minute in class--you will not only practice yoga for your well-being during pregnancy (read about these benefits in FAQ #1), but you will simultaneously practice a holistic preparation for birth.

As a yogi-doula, I conceived the insight: Yoga is Birth and Birth is Yoga--they are one. From this insight, I created this exclusive program where you can experience the truth of the unity of these two transformative experiences. The lessons include an understanding of the principles of holistic birth and yoga (theory as well as practice) and viewing them as one. In addition, the lessons include all of the tips and tools for birth that stem from my view as a yogi-doula.

Birth is an experience that you need to practice for, and a great way to prepare for it is through a process of experiences that you need to meet with an open heart and peaceful mind. Not only will you learn knowledge-based techniques (e.g.- movements, breathing, and relaxation to use during birth, etc.), but you will delve deeper into transforming your feelings, sensations, and your inner self on a conscious and subconscious level (e.g.- trusting the birth, gaining patience for the process of birth, trusting your body, releasing and cleansing, inner balance, harmony, etc.). This transformation will affect  your attitude, thoughts, and management of your birth to help you flow more freely with joy and harmony. You will, in essence, be transformed through experience that surpasses the understanding you can achieve solely through gaining a wide array of informational facts. From the combination of theory and practice that you will gain and by repetition of this practice, these tools and level of understanding will become a part of you during birth. For more information, read my article Yoga is Birth and Birth is Yoga--they are One.

Even if you are not yet certain of the kind of birth you would like to prepare for, know that this course can prepare you for any kind of birth. In other words, this course provides the practical tools for viewing, flowing, positive, and enlightening management for our everyday lives. No prior experience is necessary. Please contact your obstetrician or midwife to ensure that prenatal yoga is suitable for you.
